Well done…

Today, our nation is reminded in the most tragic way that political violence has no place in a free society. The senseless killing of Charlie Kirk—who was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025—goes beyond a personal tragedy; it’s an affront to the democratic ideals we all hold dear.”

Let me be clear: Political disagreement is the essence of our republic. Debate, dissent, and dialogue must never devolve into bloodshed. We must reject violence—always.

To the family of Charlie Kirk—his wife, Erika Frantzve, and their two children—I offer my deepest condolences and solidarity. Your grief is shared by countless Americans across the political spectrum.

In Maryland, we stand united in calling for kinder discourse and stronger safeguards. I urge lawmakers to come together—across aisle and ideology—to enact meaningful measures to protect public servants, political organizers, and every individual exercising their First Amendment rights.

We must confront this moment with resolve and compassion. Let us honor Charlie Kirk’s memory not by silence, but by renewing our commitment: fierce in debate, gentle in humanity, unwavering in peace.

Marylanders, let’s lead by example: upholding liberty, safeguarding life, and ensuring that no voice is silenced by violence.
